    Awhile back ago, one of my regulars, Matthew Locricchio, an accomplished author, chef, actor, and playwright, gave me his newest book, Teen Cuisine New Vegetarian. The book is full of interesting, delicious recipes for everyone that almost anyone can make, catering to vegetarians, vegans, and even raw foodists. Last week, during Matthew's haircut, I found out that his book, Teen Cuisine New Vegetarian, has been nominated as a finalist for the 2013 IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) Cookbook Awards (to see the full list of 2013 finalists, click here)!     Back from my getaway to Mexico! I hope everyone makes time for some rest and relaxation occasionally. It's great for your body, mind, and soul.                   If you find that you don't have enough time to get away once in awhile, you can also try flower essence therapy by Lotus Wei (available at the salon).

      Recently we were asked to participate in a video shoot for About.com, which receives over 46 million viewers per month. About.com is a website dedicated to helping people answer questions about everyday life. The shoot was a breeze, thanks to talented cameraman, Adam Watstein and our patient models. During our shoot, we were asked to cover specific men's haircuts and styles. We also had the opportunity to add a woman's haircut where Renee Foss, of "Around the World in a Bad Mood," was one of my models.
